#EconDevWeek

May 6 - May 10, 2024

In honour of Economic Development Week, the Invest Brampton - Economic Development Office staff attended Council on May 8, 2024. As Chair of the Economic Development Committee, Regional Councillor Gurpartap Singh Toor highlighted the importance of economic development as an engine for job creation and for improving the overall quality of life for everyone in our community.

Over the past year, the City of Brampton has seen remarkable growth, with the number of businesses increasing by over 13% to surpass 100,000. Our recently released Annual Report from the Economic Development Office underscores this growth.

This week is an opportunity to recognize the critical role of economic development in promoting economic well-being and quality of life. For communities like ours, that means coordinating activities that support businesses, investment and job creation in the City of Brampton.

But we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re constantly working to expand our economy in new ways—and this upcoming Economic Development Week is a great time to celebrate all that we’ve achieved together.

We’re excited to present the City of Brampton's Economic Development Office’s 2023 Annual Report.

This year’s report celebrates landmark investments, expanding development and construction activity and record-breaking business growth.
