On October 29th, 2015, staff from the Economic Development and Tourism Office along with the Brampton Board of Trade celebrated the Grand Opening of the GENCO Marketplace of Canada Inc. facility in Brampton.
GENCO Marketplace is located at 8 Van der Graff Court in Brampton, and boasts 120,000 square feet situated on a 6.6 acre property fronting onto Highway 407. This location will be home to 35 new employees, and has the potential to grow rapidly.
GENCO Marketplace has partnered with the largest retailers in North America to remarket their returned and excess products in a secondary market. The products to be remarketed include top national brands across many categories including general merchandise, apparel, sporting/toys, small appliances, consumer electronics and shoes. GENCO Marketplace liquidated more than $2.5 billion in secondary merchandise last year across North America.
According to Lennie Diakiw, General Manager of GENCO Marketplace of Canada Inc., “This location in Brampton takes advantage of the close proximity to the border and great transportation networks.” He added that he sees Ontario as a key growth market for the organization in the future.
Charlie Delworth, Senior Manager, Canada Operations said, “Our typical customers range from small online sellers who purchase single pallets for eBay inventory, to large merchandise liquidators who regularly purchase multiple truckloads.”
