The City of Brampton is proud to continue its support of community-led hackathons with BramHacks 2025 – a city-wide event designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.

This hackathon provides a dynamic platform for students, professionals, and entrepreneurs to come together, tackle pressing local challenges, and prototype innovative solutions that can shape the future of our community. By fostering collaboration between diverse groups, BramHacks empowers participants to turn bold ideas into tangible outcomes that benefit Brampton and beyond.

Participants will innovate, create, and launch ideas that solidifies Brampton as an emerging leader in the space sector. The top 3 teams will win cash prizes sponsored by Amazon.

BramHacks 2025 (Space Hackathon) is all about pushing boundaries, whether you’re a coder, designer, engineer, or someone with bold ideas! You’ll have the chance to explore how space technologies and creativity can come together to make life better here on Earth. This is your launchpad for innovation!

You’ll have freedom to work in whatever medium inspires you most, from software prototypes and hardware builds to design concepts, data tools, or entirely new approaches no one has thought of yet. The hackathon is your space to experiment, collaborate, and bring ambitious ideas into reality.

No matter your background or skill level, your contributions can help shape the future and spark innovations with real-world impact. Bring your skills, your creativity, and your vision for a future that’s truly out of this world!

Join us for BramHacks 2025 Space Edition, a City of Brampton hackathon where innovation and imagination launch into orbit. This STEAM-based competition challenges post-secondary students to explore the future of space technology, tackling real-world problems with creative solutions. 

BramHacks is open to post-secondary students from Ontario, including universities, colleges, and technical institutes. We welcome participants from all disciplines and backgrounds to collaborate on impactful space technology solutions.

BramHacks 2025 will be hosted at Canon HQ in Mississauga on November 6th, and at Brampton City Hall on November 8th and 9th. Free parking will be available at both Canon HQ, Brampton City Hall, and the West Tower Parking Garage.

This year’s theme focuses on space technology, with participants developing innovative solutions to solve challenges within this sector.

Participants should bring their laptops, chargers, and any other tools necessary for their project work. We’ll provide Wi-Fi, power outlets, and ample workspace. Additionally, we will provide several tools to support your efforts in developing space technology solutions.

Yes, meals and refreshments will be provided throughout the event, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snacks and drinks available at all times. 

Yes, you’ll need to join a team of 4-5 members. You can sign up as an individual and connect with peers or classmates during the event. We’ll also have team formation sessions to help you connect with other participants looking for teammates.

Expect an intense and rewarding experience, take full advantage of the workshops, networking opportunities, and mentorship available. Throughout the event, we will have mentors, technical support, and workshop facilitators available to assist you with challenges. Our team will also be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed.
