The Canada Summer Jobs program offers youth an opportunity to succeed while employers can do their part to boost the local economy by adding jobs and providing young people with the experience they need to start their careers.
Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed to focus on local priorities, while helping both students and the Brampton community.

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.
The deadline for applications is January 20th, 2017.

How much funding is provided through CSJ program?
The Canada Summer Jobs program provides up to a 50% contribution towards the minimum wage for For-profit businesses, and a maximum 100% contribution towards the minimum wage for Not-For-Profits.
How do businesses qualify for the Canada Summer Jobs Program?
In order to qualify for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, businesses must meet the following criteria:Have less than 50 employeesNot be a provincial or federal government agencyBe a registered incorporation and able to financially support a full-time employee
Are there a maximum number of participants allowed for each company?
No, there is no limit to the number of student summer employees that are supported through this program.
How do potential summer student employees qualify for the CSJ program?
In order to qualify prospective employees must meet the following criteria:Be between the ages of 15 and 30Intend on returning to secondary or post-secondary education in the fall of 2017.Be eligible to start work no earlier than April and no Later than august
Is there a minimum requirement to eligible # of hours of worked during CSJ?
Yes. In order to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs program one must work between 30 and 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Canada Summer Jobs 2017 will focus on applications that complement the five national priorities, including support for employers involved in the welcoming and settlement of immigrants in Canada; employers that hire indigenous people; employers in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Information and Communications Technology (ICI) sectors; employers involved in activities that celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary; and small businesses working to become more innovative, competitive and successful, in recognition of their key contribution to the creation of new jobs.
