An early February evening saw a crowded City Hall host an event to engage and inspire Brampton influencers. More than 200 businesspeople, investors, developers and property owners gathered for an event that included opportunities to network and join in the discussion on “Placemaking – Economy.” The event included presenters from four distinct spaces within Ontario.
The momentum began as a networking opportunity that saw City Hall’s Conservatory transformed into a marketplace. City of Brampton services and programs were on exhibit, along with those of partnering organizations, and unique connections were made alongside interesting and eye-catching displays.
Representatives from Bramalea City Centre, Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health & Wellness, Downtown Yonge BIA, and Yonge-Dundas Square gave inspiring presentations on what Brampton can be if we work together to enhance and expand our distinct places. Neil Davis gave an informational presentation on the long term vision of the hospital development that will put Brampton on the map for superior health care. Taylor Raths from Yonge-Dundas Square encouraged the crowd with his enthusiasm about the City of Brampton’s downtown square and what a unique asset it is to the community.
Follow up feedback on the quality and value of the event was positive. Rebecca Raven, CEO of Brampton Library said: “What a great evening! The Placemaking – Economy event organized by the Office of the Central Area was a unique opportunity to network, forge new connections and build momentum on the great work that has already been achieved”.
