BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton is launching its 2026 Budget public engagement process, providing residents, businesses and community stakeholders with opportunities to share feedback and priorities as Mayor Brown prepares the proposed budget.
Community input remains an important part of the City’s annual budget development process and helps inform investments supporting Brampton as a great place to live, work and grow.

The City of Brampton Economic Development Office recently hosted the 2026 Budget Business Virtual Roundtable as part of the City’s broader public engagement process for Budget 2026.
Brampton businesses and entrepreneurs took part in a focused discussion with City staff and Members of Council, sharing feedback on the proposed 2026 Budget and key priorities related to economic growth, competitiveness, and the local business environment. The session created an opportunity for participants to ask questions and offer perspectives that will help inform ongoing budget deliberations.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to continue participating in the Budget 2026 engagement process through upcoming Ward Coffee Chats and the Telephone Town Hall.

Budget development process and timeline
The proposed 2026 Budget will be released on Friday, January 9, 2026, accompanied by a press conference and news release.
Public delegations and Council deliberations will take place between January 19 and 27, 2026.
Final budget adoption is scheduled for a Special Council Meeting on January 27, 2026.
Following the release of the proposed budget, Council will consider the budget in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, including provisions related to Council amendments and mayoral veto authority.
Following budget adoption, the City will launch a public education campaign featuring videos and digital content from the Mayor and Members of Council to help residents better understand the approved 2026 Budget and key investments.
The City of Brampton’s annual budget process is supported by a comprehensive communications and engagement approach, including public meetings, telephone town halls, digital engagement, news releases, social media and the City’s budget website.
