Brampton to host Cybersecurity in Manufacturing Conference on April 25

Ryerson University, in collaboration with the City of Brampton, is presenting Make IT Secure, a one-day conference on Cybersecurity in the manufacturing sector. The event is being hosted jointly by Cybersecure Catalyst and the Canadian Center for Cyber Security on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

The conference will take place in Brampton at Lionhead Golf Club & Conference Centre from 9 am – 4 pm including panel discussions and keynote speeches, along with a fireside chat and networking café.

Today, manufacturers are leveraging digital technologies in all aspects of their businesses to an unprecedented degree. In this new manufacturing landscape, business leaders and cybersecurity professionals are tasked with protecting manufacturing processes, IP and supply chains from cyber threats.

The Make IT Secure conference will bring together leaders from Canada’s manufacturing sector with thought leaders in cybersecurity and Canadian policy makers to learn about the emerging threats and how Canadian manufacturing firms can effectively tackle cyber risks.

Speakers from companies such as Palo Alto Networks, Herjavec Group, Bombardier and Cisco Systems will be showcasing their industry expertise, discussing how Canadian manufacturers manage cyber security threats. Public sector speakers include the RCMP’s Criminal Intelligence Analyst in Cybercrime, Angela Anand, the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security’s Adam Hatfield, and the Director of Ryerson University’s Cybersecurity Research Lab, Dr. Atty Mashatan.
