City of Brampton mission to UK strengthens relationships and profiles investment opportunities

June 3, 2024

Mayor Patrick Brown, joined by Fouzia Younis, UK Consul General to Toronto, led a City of Brampton investment attraction mission to the UK from May 13 to 16, 2024.

With various stops in London and the Midlands, Mayor Brown and Economic Development staff highlighted Brampton distinctive advantages in various sectors, from medtech, technology and sports (cricket).

Sports

Brampton is the cricket capital of Canada. At Lord’s Cricket Grounds, a historic and prestigious venue synonymous with cricket excellence, Mayor Brown promoted Brampton’s cricket ambitions and met with business leaders to highlight Brampton’s investment landscape.

The City also met with the Lord’s Taverners, the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sport charity, empowering youth people facing the challenges of inequity through cricket. The Lord’s Taverners are interested in supporting Brampton youth by donating cricket kit.
