Globalization is creating new exporting opportunities for Ontario companies. United States is a clear strategic market with its compatible business practice and culture, and close geographic proximity.
New Exporters to Border States (“NEBS”) is a two-day program co-ordinated by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade in partnership with Canadian Consulate in Buffalo that provides a practical introduction to the basics of selling goods and services to customers in the U.S.

Designed for established small and medium enterprises (SMEs), it supports a variety of exporting stages including:
· Firms readying to export;
· Newly exporting firms experiencing challenges;
· Firms aiming to grow their exports and update their knowledge of U.S. cross-border regulatory issues.

The comprehensive program is aimed at Ontario manufacturers, distributors, agents and other business professionals, and is offered at just $150.

NEBS has run quarterly for 25 years. Next session dates are:
· November 18-19, 2015
· February 17-18, 2016
· Spring 2016 – TBA
· Autumn 2016 -TBA

Following a recent visit from the U.S. Consul General to the City of Brampton, Economic Development staff attended the October 2015 session, and will be hosting a delegation of Brampton businesses in autumn 2016. Catch an upcoming session, or join Brampton Economic Development at NEBS next fall.
