Beautifying the Downtown, one project at a time

October 13, 2015

Since 2013, a quiet renaissance has been taking place in one of our City’s most important areas. Under the Downtown Brampton Façade Improvement Program, a number of buildings in the area have been transformed. The incentive program covers building and façade improvements, and sees the City providing funds to cover some of the cost of a property owner’s capital investment in their space. Twelve projects in total are now completed or under construction, adding to the visual appeal of modern and heritage buildings in Brampton’s core. Under the incentive program’s funding formula, property owners could receive funding for up to 50% of the capital value of their project.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the results, “said Mr. Kapil of Kapil Group of Companies, referring to the work completed at 6 George South and 14 George St. South. “It is a very cost-effective way for landlords to significantly improve the look of their properties and enhance the value”.
For the City of Brampton, the incentive program supports the ongoing revitalization of the Downtown, supports the economic viability of Downtown properties, and leverages capital investment to create an economic impact. Below is a list of projects under construction and completed:
