Brampton gets serious about new business investment

The Brampton Economic Development Office has implemented a new portfolio dedicated to developing and implementing a solid investment and trade strategy for the City in order to attract new investments and drive job growth in our community.

“We have been working with various stakeholders and partners, such as Toronto Global and the provincial and federal governments, to identify market opportunities and generate quality leads,” said Amanda Leard, Manager, Investment Attraction. “Building and nurturing relationships will be key in order to maximize investment opportunities in Brampton.”

Toronto Global is the regional marketing agency that the City partners with to support FDI activities and their pitches to potential international investors. It is these kinds of relationships that generate marketing opportunities and leads that help raise Brampton’s international profile.

The City of Brampton will be sponsoring the upcoming Canadian FDI Summit from Oct 22 – 24th in Ottawa, where economic development professionals have an opportunity to gain perspectives on current investment criteria and how it affects the site selection process. Site selection is a critical piece of our investment attraction strategy, so by gaining intel and creating valuable strategic relationships, we can put Brampton on the map globally.

The new Ryerson University Campus with a National Centre for Cyber Security, along with the new Centre for Innovation, will generate new prospects in the start up tech space.

Developing a health and life sciences cluster around the Peel Memorial Centre, with a focus on preventative care, provides a significant growth opportunity and will differentiate Brampton from health sectors across the GTA and beyond.
