This shift reflects a broader strategy to attract investment in high-growth sectors while strengthening the city’s economic foundation.
Building Brampton’s ecosystem for advanced manufacturing

This momentum is reinforced by local businesses adapting their operations to align with emerging industries, unlocking new pathways for innovation and growth.
“We have amazing access to highways, roads and skilled labour. We have a proximity and access to the airport and infrastructure that makes Brampton a really unique and special city.”

Unlocking new opportunities through investment and innovation
With increased national focus on defence and aerospace capabilities, Brampton is well-positioned to capture new investment and support Canadian supply chains. The city continues to attract companies and foster partnerships that drive innovation and economic diversification.
“We essentially did a deep dive into the mega trends of 2021, aerospace, defence, hydrogen EV and medical and electrical became areas of interest and we started preparing for those industries. We finished 2023 still at 100% automotive. Last year, we finished at around 8% non-automotive. This year, we will be somewhere between 15 and 20 percent. The percentage of the non-automotive is rapidly expanding”
