Countdown to Collision 2022 in Brampton!

May 13, 2022

BRAMPTON, ON (May 13, 2022) – The City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office (EDO) is excited to host Countdown to Collision on Wednesday, May 18 from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Rose Brampton.

Leading up to the Collision Conference in Toronto, Brampton was chosen as one of the six cities in Canada to host an in-person event to build anticipation and bring tech ecosystems together before the conference in Toronto from June 20 to 23.

This free Countdown to Collision event will feature a fireside chat with Isaac Olowolafe Jr., and a keynote address from Wes Hall followed by a reception and networking opportunity with members of Brampton’s start-up community.

Isaac Olowolafe Jr. is the Founder and General Partner of Dream Maker Ventures (DMV), a Toronto-based, early-stage venture firm. He is also an award-winning real estate entrepreneur, angel investor and philanthropist. Wes Hall is the Founder and Chairman of The Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism and the BlackNorth Initiative. Hall is also the newest member of the Dragon’s Den, bringing his years of expertise in mergers and acquisitions to the den and Canada’s future entrepreneurs.

Collision is the fastest-growing tech conference in North America, bringing together “the world’s best speakers,” tech’s leading companies, and top media. This is the third time the City of Brampton will be participating in the global event. In 2021, the Economic Development Office took part in the virtual conference to showcase the City of Brampton to 38,000 participants online and 1,200 start-ups in 141 countries, from Brazil to India, highlighting Brampton’s Innovation District and promote the Brampton BHive to a global audience. In 2019, representatives from the City travelled to Lisbon, Portugal to take part in Web Summit to let 70,000 participants know that, “Brampton is Now”, highlighting the City’s unique investment opportunities on a global scale.
