The Brampton Innovation District, in partnership with the City of Brampton’s Invest Brampton – Economic Development Office and the Brampton Honey Badgers, welcomed founders, investors, ecosystem partners and industry leaders to Courtside Capital: Where Tech Meets Sports, a high-energy Toronto Tech Week event focused on innovation, collaboration and community. 

Hosted at the CAA Centre in Brampton, the event brought together leaders from across the innovation ecosystem to explore the intersection of technology, sport and capital through startup showcases, investor engagement and meaningful networking opportunities. 

From Innovation Alley startup activations to investor reverse pitches and a live Brampton Honey Badgers game-day experience, Courtside Capital highlighted the growing momentum of Brampton’s innovation ecosystem and the importance of creating spaces where entrepreneurs, investors and partners can connect.

Event Highlights 

The event welcomed more than 200 attendees from across the innovation and technology ecosystem and featured participation from early-stage founders, investors and ecosystem leaders supporting startup growth and investment readiness. 

Participating investor groups included Winner Capital, Keiretsu Forum Canada, Angel Investors Durham, Georgian Angel Network, Horizon Angel Investors and Altitude Angels. 

Innovation Alley showcased more than 20 startups and emerging companies, including FanLinc, BurnOn AI (Brampton), ELO Gaming (Brampton), ZEnergy (Brampton), TritonWear, Unyfer (Brampton), Aurmada, LINKSPORTS, Next Play AI and DataCoach, among others. 

Throughout the evening, attendees engaged in conversations focused on investment, scaling, partnerships and building stronger connections across the innovation ecosystem. 

Industry Leaders and Ecosystem Voices 

Courtside Capital also featured participation from innovation and investment leaders who shared insights and perspectives on startup growth, investment opportunities and ecosystem collaboration.

Their participation reinforced the importance of collaboration between founders, investors and ecosystem builders in helping Canadian startups scale and succeed.
