​Summer Company

Summer Company is a youth entrepreneurship program of the Ministry of Economic Development and Growth. The program is administered by the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre, and is available to students between the ages of 15 and 29 who are returning to school in the fall.

Summer Company is an extremely helpful initiative for young entrepreneurs as it provides funding of up to $3000, and hands-on coaching and mentoring to help students start and operate their own summer business.

Students accepted into the program receive:
• Hands-on business training
• Up to $3,000 in awards
• Business Mentoring to aid in their current and future endeavours
• The pride and experience of being their own boss

Make Your Pitch

Ontario is investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs by providing an opportunity to pitch their business ideas to experts and the public as part of the province’s Young Entrepreneurs, Make Your Pitch contest.

The contest, part of Ontario’s Youth Job Strategy, challenges high school students in grades 9 through 12 to promote their business idea in a two-minute video. The videos will be evaluated by judges from the business community while the public will be able to vote online for the best pitch.

Submit your video presenting your business idea to win some great prizes.

Unlock Your Big Idea

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN: It’s time to Unlock Your Big Idea with The Humber Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Peel One Network.
It’s time to find the key to unlocking your next unbelievable idea. Then Humber Centre for Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Peel ONE Network, is happy to announce the 2nd annual Unlock Your Big Idea Competition (UYBI).

UYBI is a designed to support ventures in the GTA area and will feature 3 categories:
• Young Entrepreneur Startup
• Technology Start Up
• Non-Tech Startup

UYBI pitch competition will provide entrepreneurs in the GTA with the opportunity to compete for a chance to win a share of over $40,000 and mentorship through the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs to accelerate their business.

Women’s Day Event

Join Amber Mac and the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre on March 8
Celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 with the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre and television host, professional speaker and tech guru Amber MacArthur. Her keynote – Relentless Adaptation: How Great Companies are Really Innovating to Win – will shed light on how to win in our fast-forward economy.

The Brampton Entrepreneur Centre runs events throughout the year to support business and connect entrepreneurs. They also offer individual consultations and advice, and are the access point for funding and programs to support start-up and established businesses.
