February 11, 2015

On February 11th, 2015 Italpasta Limited announced they will be investing in new production and packaging equipment required for the manufacture of Macaroni and Cheese at their Brampton facility.
Italpasta Limited received an investment of $3.4 million from the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada under the Growing Forward 2 Program. This investment is also expected to create eight full-time jobs and increase the demand for locally-produced semolina and cheese.
The Growing Forward 2 is a five-year (2013-2018) policy framework for Canada’s agricultural and agri-food sector with a $3 billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments and the foundation for government agricultural programs and services.
Italpasta officials stated that daily production can feed over 3.5 million people every day of the year and pasta production per year is close to 200 million lbs.
Last year, Italpasta Limited celebrated their 25th anniversary in operation and has increased employment from 10 to over 250 individuals at the two facilities during that time period. Italpasta operates two facilities in Brampton at 166 Nuggett Court and 199 Summerlea Road.
