Considering Brampton’s strength in advanced manufacturing, it’s natural that Brampton’s Economic Development Office attended Fabtech Canada 2018.
Fabtech Canada is Canada’s largest metal forming, fabricating and welding event with hundreds of exhibitors and over 7,600 attendees. World-class suppliers come to share the latest products that help the industry improve productivity, increase profits and discover new solutions.
Metal forming, fabricating and welding (metal fabrication) is the second largest sub-sector of manufacturing by employment in Brampton. As a significant part of Brampton’s manufacturing sector, the City of Brampton hosted a booth providing information about manufacturing companies in the City, services provided by our Economic Development Office (e.g., sector manager, expeditor, marketing and research) and future plans for economic growth set out in the City’s first economic development master plan:https://bit.ly/2L3wE4e
It was great to see companies operating out of Brampton like ABB Robotics, Supreme Galvanzing, Flexovit, Chemetall and Caps’n Plugs represented. The City of Brampton also shared the booth with partners from the Southern Ontario Network for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation (SONAMI) and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). Working with our companies and partners like SONAMI and the BDC is key to future growth – it was exciting to see the buzz in the industry and the collaborative efforts among our companies and partners to improve their operations.
